HSSG and the Pandemic

I know what you’re probably thinking: I’m not even going to school right now. Why should I be doing this at my school if it barely has a carbon footprint at the moment? Well, you’re right. It’s not easy, but climate change is not stopping, not even for COVID-19. In 2020 at least 52,113 wildfires burned 8,889,297 acres (NIFC), Arctic sea ice cover shrank to the second lowest extent since modern record-keeping began, and a record-breaking number of 30 storms occurred in the Atlantic Basin, 13 of which became hurricanes; it is actually more important than ever to work on growing and bettering our communities even through these times so that we can come back to a flourishing, greener, stronger place. This could be a way for you to start getting back in touch with your school, and find out what the administration has been up to in terms of recent plans for the school. It’s also a time where it’s a lot easier to do construction on the school and it’s important that students have a say in the plans for these new buildings.
